Lesley Atkins leads the way for Scotland in Under-16 Open Strokeplay Championship
Minto’s Lesley Atkins was the leading Scot, finishing in fourth place after rounds of 78 and 73 in the Scottish Girls’ Under-16 Open Strokeplay Championship at Craigielaw.
On nine over par, the 13-year-odl Borders girl finished eight shots behind the English winner, Hayley Davis (Ferndown). Hayley shot 73-70 and won by three shots from Hannah Turland (74-72) with Ashley Cramond (76-73) in third place on seven over par.
Lesley is recognised as one of Scotland’s great young talents – and not just in golf. She is also at national level standard in table tennis.
