Paul Lawrie ends Open on high with albatross
Scotland's Paul Lawrie had a spectacular albatross in his final round at the 138th Open as he ended his tournament on a high note at Turnberry.
Lawrie, who lifted the Claret Jug in 1999, holed his second shot, a 213-yard four iron, at the par five seventh on his way a final round of 68.
That ensured the Scot ended on eight over par and Lawrie revealed he was happy to end on a high, having struggled on Friday and Saturday.
"I've struggled badly this week with my game so it's nice to finish with plenty of positives to take. I played an awful lot better today and that's pleasing," said Lawrie.
"I was really poor yesterday and was not happy with a 76 but I just went out there and had nothing to lose.
"And I've never holed a second shot before. I hit the shot well and I got to see it drop in as well which was nice."
David Drysdale, the only other Scot to make the cut, shot 73 on Sunday to end the tournament ten over par.
