Law gets off to flyer in Kent

Aberdeen rising star David Law continued his run of form at the Boys Amateur Championship at Royal St George’s Sandwich.

The 18-year-old breezed through the first round 4 & 3 over Italian Alfredo Pazzeschi after winning five of the first six holes.

And after becoming the first player to win the Scottish men’s and boys’ matchplay titles in the same season, Law admitted his dream season just keeps getting better.

“It was unbelievable, unreal and fantastic,” he said. “I have been very fortunate this year to have played Lytham, Troon and now here, three of the finest links courses in the country.

“I played well and am pretty pleased to have got over that hurdle.”

Law now faces Colin Brown for a place in round three in Kent.
