Kylie aims for February start

Kylie Walker, who finished ninth at the Ladies’ European Tour Final Qualifying at La Manga last week, is hoping to launch her professional career Down Under in February.

The New Zealand Ladies’ Open plus two events in Australia mark the start of the LET season towards the end of February, and the 24-year-old Scot hopes to be in the line-up.

“The tournaments were a little earlier last year and that made it difficult for the rookies, but now the timing is excellent,” said the Buchanan Castle golfer.

“For the next few weeks, I’ll be trying to find some sponsors and get organised for the challenge ahead. But I’m really looking forward t my rookie year.”

Kylie won the Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association’s Order of Merit title in 2008 and was a member of this year’s Great Britain and Ireland team at the Vagliano Trophy.
