Janice Moodie, the sole Scottish standard bearer on the LPGA Tour now that Catriona Matthew and Mhairi McKay are on maternity leave, put together rounds of 70 and 75 to stand in the top 25 with a round to play in the Mastercard Classic at Bosque Real in Mexico.

South Korea’s Na Yeon Choi (67, 70) and Taiwan’s Yani Tseng (68, 69) tied for the lead on seven under – world No. 1 Lorena Ochoa was tied for third on six under.

Moodie has set her sights this season on regaining her place in the European team for the Solheim Cup in Illinois in August.
