Imrie off to steady start in Portugal
Kathryn Imrie shot a level par 73 and was the leading Scot as Anne-Lise Caudal, from France, set a fantastic target of nine under par 64 in the first round of the Portuguese Open at Quinta de Cima on the Algarve.
Imrie started on the back nine and dropped a couple of early shots before hitting back with three birdies in the first six holes on the back nine.
But she dropped a shot at the ninth to miss out on a sub-par score.
Clare Queen opened her account with a three over par 76, while Lynn Kenny, the third Scot in the field, was also over par.
Caudal had a career best third place finish at last week's tournament in the Netherlands - she continued the great from with a round of seven birdies and an eagle at the long 18th.
