Imrie's Swiss swing

Scotland's Kathryn Imrie helped revive her playing career with a top six finish at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies' Scottish Open at Loch Lomond three weeks ago and she now hopes to prove it was not a flash in the pan at the Deutsche Bank Swiss Open in Losone.

The 40-year-old is trying to open up new opportunities as a television commentator and as a coach, but her good showing at The Carrick could extend her tournament ambitions.

"Shooting 76 or 77 is no fun, but if I can have a few more weeks like the Scottish Open then I'll definitely continue to play," said the player who became the first Scot to win on the US Women's Tour in the 1995 Jamie Farr Classic.

"I'm playing the next five weeks in Europe and, after that, I'll make another assessment about my future."

Clare Queen, who also tied for sixth at Loch Lomond, is the leading Scot at this early stage of the Ladies' European Tour season. She is in 22nd place, with Imrie at No.48.

Lynn Kenny and rookie Jenna Wilson are the other Scots in a field that has added strength this week due with the appearances from both England's Laura Davies and Norway's world No.3, Suzann Pettersen, who won five times in America last year.
