Four Scots make European Tour

Four Scottish golfers have successfully qualified for the illustrious 2009 European Tour.

Andrew Coltart, David Drysdale, Chris Doak and amateur player Callum Macaulay all coped with the pressure, finishing within the required top thirty places of the final six round qualifying school tournament, held in Catalunya.

Topping the list was the old stager of the tour, Coltart, who finished joint 12th in the final standings with a six-round score of 420, with a best single-round score of 67.

Dumfries born Coltart , 38, has been professional since 1991, and finished as high as seventh in the order of merit, in 1996.

Coming in at joint 15th was Drysdale and Doak, who shared a combined score of 421.  Doak was one of the early strugglers in the tournament, but put in an amazing display in the fourth round, carding an incredible 62, to fight his way back up the standings.

Macaulay, a member of last month’s World Amateur Championship winning Scottish team in Adelaide, finished joint 20th with 422, his best score being 67 in the second round.
