Four Scots in qualifying

Scotland’s Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) and teenager Carly Booth (Comrie) both made it through to the final stage of the Ladies’ European Tour Qualifying School at La Manga in Spain.

They now join Scots Clare Queen and Pamela Feggans – who failed to hold on to their playing rights this year – in the 72-hole battle for the 30 full cards for the 2010 season.

With 46 places up for grabs from the pre-qualifying stage, Walker posted a final round of two over par 73 over the North Course and finished in tenth place on two over par. Seventeen-year-old Booth shot 74 and was joint 21st on six over par.

Walker, who just missed out on her card last year, and Booth have both entered the event as amateurs and will only turn professional if they gain a place on the 2010 LET circuit.

Colombia’s Maria Jose Uribe closed with a 68 and was the leading qualifier over the 54-holes. She finished on four under par and was one shot better than Germany’s Caroline Masson.
