Elliot targets more Saltman success

Elliot Saltman has vowed to follow brother Lloyd's lead when he makes his Open bow at Turnberry.

Elliot, 27, saw Lloyd win the Silver Medal for best amateur at St Andrews in 2005 but they will both take their place in Ayrshire this week after making it through local qualifying.

They are the first brothers to play at the Open since Joe and Jumbo Ozaki in 1992 and Elliot admits he will do all he can to match Lloyd's heroics on his debut.

"I saw, from outside the ropes, what Lloyd was experiencing at St Andrews and it made me work harder to get into that position," said Elliot, who will have another sibling, Zack, as his caddie.

"Four years down the line it's all paid off and here I am getting ready for the Open, it's fantastic and I can't wait to start."

Elliot has been paired with Kenich Kuboya and Bruce Vaughan for the opening two rounds while Lloyd will tee it up alongside Billy Mayfair and Marc Cayeux.
