David Drysdale aims to make successful Open return at St Andrews in 2010
Scottish golfer David Drysdale admitted he was blown away by his maiden Open experience and is determined to return next year at St Andrews.
The 34-year-old finished 60th equal overall after posting a score of 270 over the four days with Paul Lawrie the only other Scot to make the cut.
And Drysdale is already dreaming of repeating the process all over again at the home of golf in 12 months' time.
"I've enjoyed the week a lot," he said. "I didn't play as well as I'd have liked to. I had poor starts every day, though that was nothing to do with feeling nervous in any way.
"I battled back every day and, overall, it was good to have made the cut in my first Open.
"I have been a spectator at a few Opens in the past and have loved it. But playing was definitely better. In fact, it was even better than I thought it was going to be.
"Even from the off on Monday it was amazing. People were clapping you on to the green in your practice round. With the number of people who were here it was an incredible atmosphere. I enjoyed every minute of it and would love to be at St Andrews next year."
