Scots gearing up for hectic international schedule
Scotland’s Pamela Pretswell, Kylie Walker and Sally Watson face a hectic international double next month.
In the run-up to playing for Great Britain and Ireland at the Vagliano Trophy in Hamburg on July 25-26, the threesome will be heading Scotland’s attempt to win the European Championship at Bled in Slovenia.
But, a little surprisingly, there is no room for the new Scottish Amateur Champion, Megan Briggs (Kilmalcom), in the six-strong team. She is the first reserve.
Carly Booth, Kelsey MacDonald and the Scottish Champions beaten finalist, Louise Kenney, are the other three in the line-up.
The European Girls’ Championship takes place at Kokkola in Finland from July 7-11, and the line-up includes 14-year-old Lesley Atkins who was a quarter-finalist at the Scottish Amateur at Southerness.
The Borders teenager is joined by Sammy Leslie, Ailsa Summers and Rachael Watton
