

Matthew cards a top 15 finish at South Korean Championship
Scotland’s Catriona Matthew saved her best for last and finished in the top 15 at the Hana Bank Kolon Championship that was won by Taiwan’s Candie Kung in South Korea.
Matthew shot a final day two under par 70 and was five shots behind Kung on one under par and was joint 13th, the joint best Briton alongside Karen Stupples, who closed with a 75. Janice Moodie, the second Scot in the field, had a 76 and was just inside the top 60 on ten over par.
M<eanwhile Annika Sorenstam, who will step down from tournament golf after the Dubai Ladies’ Masters next month, won the 89th title of her glorious career after a play-off at the inaugurl Suzhou Taihou Ladies’ Open in China.
After a last day 65 for 13 under par, 38-year-old Sorenstam then beat China’s Li Ying Ye at the second hole in extra time to clinch the victory.
Lynn Kenny, the only Scot in the field, finished a creditable 27th after a closing 72.
