McKay hoping to follow in Matthew's post-baby steps
Catriona Matthew makes her return to the routine of competing on the LPGA Tour in America this week at the Safeway Classic in Portland, Oregon.
The new Ricoh Women’s British Open Champion – and a star of last week’s Solheim Cup – is also hoping to be joined in the line-up by fellow-Scot, Mhairi McKay.
McKay had her first baby – Angus – at the end of April, and is first reserve for what she hopes will be her comeback event.
For Matthew, it is the first of a late season programme that will also include next month’s Canadian Open and the Samsung Women’s World Championship in San Diego – an event in which she was handed an invitation after winning the British title.
“I’m also going to go to South Korea at the end of October, and then I’ll go to Lorena Ochoa’s tournament in Mexico and the LPGA Tour Championship in Texas in November,” aid Matthew.
“It’s been nice that the British win has enabled me to add some extra tournaments.”
