Ailsa Bain (Peebles) is the new Scottish Girls’ Champion following a two hole victory over Sammy Vass (Tain) at Lanark.

Sammy made the early move and was two up after three holes, but Ailsa hit back to be all square by the turn. 

The Borders girl then surged ahead with wins at the tenth, 12th and 13th before Sammy made a late charge to win the 16th with a birdie and the 17th with a par.

But, one up on the final tee, Ailsa made a three at the short 18th to clinch the coveted title.
