Alistair Forsyth continues hot run of form at Portuguese Masters
Alastair Forsyth is determined to continue his superb form at the Portuguese Masters into the weekend after recording his lowest opening two-rounds since last year’s event.
The 33-year-old carded a second round 68 – despite a bogey on the last – to leave him four-shots behind overnight leader Italian Francesco Molinari on 15-under par.
But Forsyth – whose 36-hole tally is the best he’s carded since last year’s opening 65 and 69 – knows he will have to keep up the pace to stand any chance of winning.
He said:” It was disappointing to bogey the last as I missed the green with a 6-iron, and the ball took a huge bounce off to the right of the green.
“The total s one of my best for 36-holes and my opening round is my lowest for a long time.
“But this is a course where you have to go low or you have no chance so I’m just looking forward to the weekend.”
