Drysdale and Lawrie flounder at Turnberry

Drysdale and Lawrie struggle on day three at the Open
David Drysdale and Paul Lawrie, the only two Scots to make the cut at the Open, struggled in blustery conditions on day three at Turnberry.
Beginning the day two over par, Drysdale carded a third round 75 to lie seven over with one round to go.
And Lawrie, the last Scot to lift the Claret Jug when he triumphed at Carnoustie in 1999, shot 76 to leave him languishing on ten over par.
Both players had begun the week well with Drysdale shooting a promising 69, while Lawrie remained in contention after his 71.
Colin Montgomerie, Lloys and Elliot Saltman, Martin Laird, Sandy Lyle, Gary Orr and Richie Ramsay were the other Scots to enter the competition, but all missed the cut on Saturday.
