Scottish pair ready to go out and reclaim World Cup title
David Drysdale has vowed to turn the form book on its head at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup this week as he prepares to represent Scotland alongside Alastair Forsyth.
The 34-year-old will make his World Cup debut for Scotland less than a week after being the nation’s only representative at the Dubai World Championship.
Drysdale and Forsyth face an uphill battle in China with Swedish pair Henrik Stenson and Robert Karlsson set to defend their title and Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter all representing their countries.
The Scottish duo scraped through qualifying in Estonia in September but despite that Drysdale sees no reason why they can’t emulate Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren’s winning heroics of two years ago.
“We were never really looking like qualifying but played fantastic on the final day," said Drysdale
“If we re-create that form this week, then there's no reason why we can't do well. I didn’t play well overall in Dubai – there was maybe a bit of rust after a few weeks off.
“Hopefully I can play myself into good form this week. I've had a great season, very consistent, and this week caps it off."
