David Drysdale confident he can break top 50 in time for Ryder Cup
David Drysdale is convinced he can join golf’s elite after becoming Scotland’s No.1 player for the first time in his career.
The 34-year-old has jumped to 142nd in the world after claiming his sixth top-ten finish of the season at the Madrid Masters on Sunday.
Drysdale is now above world No.147 Gary Orr and Paul Lawrie in 174th place – but he does not want to stop there insists there is more to come from him.
He said: “It’s absolutely fantastic – it’s a huge boost to me but now I’ve got to keep pressing and get even higher.
“To get into the top 50 in the world you need to win an event and there is no reason why I can’t do that.
“I’ve had a very consistent season and constantly been knocking on the door and I know I can build on that.”
