Richie Ramsay expecting much bigger things in the future
Richie Ramsay admitted he is yet to fulfill his potential on the green despite securing his place on next year’s European Tour.
The 26-year-old has made 30 tournament starts this year and is currently out in Atlanta not on holiday but working on his game – in particular his putting.
The highlight of the past 12 months for Ramsay came at the Dunhill Links Championships in October where he finished joint fourth.
Ramsay currently sits 97th in the Race to Dubai rankings and the former US Amateur champion believes his best is yet to come.
“I don’t feel I have fulfilled my potential. There is more in the tank and I have to step it up,” said Ramsay.
“I should finish in the top 100 this year, which is a solid start, and the challenge next year is to break into the top 75.
“If I can do that then I will be in contention for the Race to Dubai, but I know it will be tough.
“It is very difficult when you are competing against guys who play in the world championship events and majors as they are playing for guaranteed money.”
