Arsenal not intimidated by Celtic Park atmosphere
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists his players will not be fazed by the intimidating Celtic crowd in their UEFA Champions League qualifier at Celtic Park tonight.
The Gunners, who are favourites to progress from the tie, warmed up for the game with a 6-1 demolition of Everton hours after Celtic had opened their SPL campaign with a 3-1 win at Aberdeen.
And Wenger believes his side have the determination and experience to beat the SPL runners-up and is confident about taking an advantage back to the Emirates Stadium next Wednesday.
“You expect a massive support at Celtic,” said Wenger. “Scotland is always a very special atmosphere – a special noise in the stands – but we have played everywhere in Europe and we can deal with that.
“It will be down to us and the way we play.
“We don’t go into this game with fear. We go with respect for Celtic, but we know it is a very important game for us and we want to come home with a positive result.”
Arsenal may be without the trio of Cesc Fabregas, Bacary Sagna and Denilson after they all picked up knocks at Goodison Park.
