Gordon Strachan wants to hold onto Scottish PFA player of the year
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan insists the sky' the limit for midfielder Scott Brown after he scooped the Scottish PFA player of the year award.
Brown had a rocky start when he arrived at Parkhead from Hibernian in a £4.4million two years ago but has won round the doubters with a series of storming displays from central midfield.
And despite interest from a host of English Premiership clubs, Strachan has urged the 23-year-old to establish him as a club great after beating off competition from teammate Gary Caldwell and Rangers duo Steven Davis and Pedro Mendes to land the prestigious award.
He said: "It's up to himself, really. Through his career, he's worked with good people at Hibs; hopefully, he's worked with good people at Celtic.
"Where he goes, I don't know - it's up to him. But he can play at a really high level - that's for sure.
"It's not inevitable; I think there are players who stay at clubs for a long time.
"It depends how much they enjoy it. How good he'll be is what we should be looking at."
