Smith out of Scotland running

Walter Smith rules himself out of running for Scotland job
Walter Smith is set to remain with debt-ridden Rangers rather than seek a return to international management with Scotland.
The 61-year-old Ibrox boss dragged Scotland 70 places up the world rankings during his 25-month stay as international boss that ended in January 2007.
Smith revived the side’s fortunes following Berti Vogts’ disastrous spell at the helm – leading Scotland to victory over France at Hampden Park.
The former Everton manager’s contract at Rangers expires in January but Smith is reportedly prepared to remain in Glasgow without a new deal.
Without Smith in the running, the way appears clear for Dundee United boss Craig Levein to lay claim to the Hampden dugout.
