Russians Rule Out

Scotland's women's team suffered a heartbreaking aggregate loss to Russia in their UEFA Championship play-off.

The Scots went out on away goals after winning the second leg away from home 2-1.

Scotland trailed to a 20th-minute own goal from Ifeoma Dieke but hit back in the second half with Celtic's Pauline Hammill equalising in the 64th minute.

Michelle Kerr (Spartans) then made it 2-1 with just five minutes left to tie the scores 4-4 on aggregate.

But the Scots could not find the clincher and Russia went through after winnig last Sunday's first leg 3-2 at Tynecastle.
