Rangers keep top-spot despite draw



Rangers extended their lead at the top, but only by a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Hibernian.

The Gers took an early lead when Kris Boyd volleyed home from close range.

But the visitors equalised in the 63rd minute through a sublime piece of skill from striker Anthony Stokes.

Hibs have Graham Stack to thank after the former Arsenal goalkeeper pulled off a series of stunning saves.

The point moves Hibs level on points with Celtic, who play at Hamilton tomorrow.

Dundee United remain in touching distance of the top with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Striker Damian Casalinuovo opened the scoring for the Terrors, bundling home a corner from five-yards.

The lead was doubled five minutes later when left-back Morgaro Gomis curled home from the edge of the area.

There was a goal fest at St Mirren, as Motherwell came from two goals down to draw 3-3.

Midfielder Hugh Murray ploughed into Well’s box to slide the ball home on 42 minutes before Ross Forbes equalised from the spot after Lee Mair was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.

Winger Andy Dorman regained the Buddies’ lead on 59 minutes when he stabbed the ball past John Ruddy before Murray extended the advantage on 72 minutes with a long-range effort.

But two neat finishes from former Everton midfielder Lukas Jutkiewicz earned his side a share of the spoils.

Kevin Kyle eased Kilmarnock away from the relegation zone with a double in their 2-1 win over St Johnstone at Rugby Park.

Killie struck first six minutes after the break when Kyle headed home from close-range before tapping into an empty net after Alan Main had saved well from Connor Sammon.

The Saints pulled one back in the last minute when Frazer Wright headed into his own net, but it was too little too late for the visitors.

Elsewhere, rock-bottom Falkirk earned a point in their 0-0 draw at Hearts.
