Mowbray purrs as Celtic cruise to 5-0 win

Celtic's strikers found their shooting boots as the Celts put five past Egyptian outfit Al-Ahly, but it was Polish keeper Artur Boruc's performance that left new boss Tony Mowbray purring.

Mowbray had been less than impressed as his frontman drew a blank in the midweek 0-0 draw at Cardiff but the former West Brom boss had no cause for worry in last night's Wembley Cup clash.

Two goals from Scott McDonald, and strikes from Massimo Donati, Shaun Maloney and Chris Killen completed a resounding thrashing of the Egyptian champions.

But despite his side re-discovering their goalscoring prowess, Mowbray was in no doubt as to the star of the Wembley show.

He said: "From day one, Artur has been one of those boys who people keep telling me is this and he's that. But he has been sensational.

"I've stood on the sidelines watching him with my staff sometimes and think to myself, We have got a real goalkeeper here'.

"His agility for his size is remarkable and he is a remarkable goalkeeper, really - a great personality and I'm delighted he is here.

"Every team in the world needs a good goalkeeper because you can't dominate every match for 90 minutes.

"Teams are going to have chances, and Artur made a save or two in the first half and one or two outstanding saves in the second."
