Jamie Langfield urges goal-shy Dons to find shooting boots
Aberdeen keeper Jamie Langfield has called on his strikers to find their shooting boots when the Dons take on St Mirren at Pittodrie tomorrow.
Mark McGhee’s side leaked 11 goals in 135 minutes in two games against Sigma Olomouc and in one half against Celtic on the opening day of the SPL season.
But with three consecutive clean sheets since the Celtic game Langfield has now urged his side to set their sights on the other end of the pitch.
“It was a difficult start but we have become a bit more resolute at the back,” said Langfield.
“We are not scoring as much as we would like but the important thing after those matches was to stop conceding.
“If we can add a few goals at the other end we will accumulate a lot more points and be right up there.”
Elsewhere, Rangers will be looking for a return to league form after losing their unbeaten start to the season with a 0-0 draw against Motherwell last week.
Rock-bottom Falkirk have yet to register their first league win and travel to second-bottom Hamilton.
Hibernian will be hoping to bounce back from two straight defeats with a home win against St Johnstone.
