Burley calls up Kevin Kyle to Scotland squad
George Burley has recalled Kilmarnock striker Kevin Kyle to the Scotland squad for next week’s friendly with Wales.
The former Sunderland targetman was unable to accept a call-up for last month’s friendly defeat to Japan with a knee injury.
He is joined in the squad by James McFadden and Ross McCormack after they returned to fitness.
Burley has overlooked Celtic pair Shaun Maloney and Scott Brown, who are both struggling with ongoing injuries.
Hoops team-mate Danny Fox is in line for his first cap while Don Cowie, Lee Wallace and Graham Dorrans have retained their places after impressive debuts in Japan.
Captain Darren Fletcher is included despite an ankle problem but newly-qualified Scot Andrew Driver has been overlooked.
