Dons captain Mark Kerr backs his team to bounce back from cup shocker
Skipper Mark Kerr has backed Aberdeen to bounce back from their embarrassing League Cup exit to Dundee when they take on the might of Rangers.
The Dons – who have not won at Ibrox for 18 years – were defeated 3-2 by the Dee on Tuesday night to miss out on a place in the last eight.
But 27-year-old midfielder Kerr believes Mark McGhee’s men can put that right against the reigning champions on Saturday.
He said: “Losing to Dundee is embarrassing because we should be beating teams from the First Division.
“Now we just have to get back to the basics and hopefully we can make up to the fans for this defeat with a result at Ibrox.”
Meanwhile, table-toppers Celtic travel to St Mirren with boss Tony Mowbray sweating over the fitness of Aidan McGeady while third plays fourth as Hibernian visit Motherwell.
Early strugglers Falkirk and St Johnstone are both in search of their first SPL wins this term against Kilmarnock and Dundee United respectively and Hearts will be looking to kick-start their season hosting Hamilton.
