Falkirk's Patrick Cregg to be John Hughes' first signing at Hibs
Hibernian boss John Hughes raided old club Falkirk to make midfielder Patrick Cregg his first signing.
The 23-year-old former Arsenal trainee joins Hibs on a free transfer after making 107 appearances for the Bairns.
And Hughes believes Cregg as a young, hungry player fits the bill perfectly at Easter Road.
He said: "Patrick loves getting on the ball and has loads of energy, he's just the sort of player I want at the club.
"He has his best years in front of him and will thrive on the big stage at Easter Road."
Cregg made three appearances for Arsenal in the League Cup and admitted the combination of Hughes and Hibs was too good to turn down.
He said: "I loved working with the gaffer at Falkirk, so to be joining him at a club the size of Hibernian is a great opportunity for me.
"I'm very excited about pre-season and can't wait to start work at the training centre this week with the rest of the boys."
Meanwhile speculation continues to link Hibs star striker Steve Fletcher with a move to English Premier League new boys Burnley in a £3.5million move.
