John Hughes hits out at egotistical Hibs players
Hibernian boss John Hughes has ordered his team to leave their egos in the dressing room after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Hamilton.
Hibs were hit by a three minute suckerpunch as Simon Mensing put the home side ahead from the spot on nine minutes before Mickael Antoine-Curier hit a goal on his debut moments later.
To compound a bad day Colin Nish was sent off and Derek Riordan missed a penalty – and Hughes insists there are no excuses for his stars not rolling up their sleeves.
He said: “"f we want to go where we want to go, the boys are going to have to do better than that.
“You’re working with egos - guys who think they’re better than they are. For me, it’s a recipe for disaster.
“I picked my team and made sure I had some physical stuff in there, but we were second-best.
“Hamilton deserved to win the football match, which is disappointing for us.”
