Falkirk manager Hughes takes over as new manager at Easter Road
Hibernian have unveiled Falkirk boss John Hughes as their new manager and chairman Rod Petrie insists he's the man to bring the good times back to Easter Road.
Hughes replaces Mixu Paatelainen who left by mutual consent at the end of the season and has signed a three-year deal with the club he played for between 1996 and 2000.
And Petrie believes Hughes is the perfect candidate to continue Hibs, footballing traditions after guiding Falkirk to the Scottish Cup final.
He said: "John Hughes was the unanimous choice of the board not for his exploits as a former player, but for his credentials as a manager, his style of football and his potential to bring success to the club on the field of play.
"The board will never lose sight of the requirement for Hibernian FC to be competing for honours and we see John as the ideal candidate to achieve this.
"John will galvanize everyone connected with Hibs and drive the club forward."
