Scrap for McCarthy still ongoing while Easton heads to Burnley
Hamilton defender Brian Easton is set to complete a move to Premier League new-boys Burnley but the Accies have rebuffed a new bid for starlet James McCarthy.
A fee of £300,000, which could eventually rise to £700,000, is believed to have been offered by the Clarets, who have already snapped up Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher this summer.
Owen Coyle's men are hoping to seal the deal for Easton before they head to America on Tuesday for a pre-season tour.
But Accies are determined not to lose midfielder McCarthy on the cheap after knocking back a £1m offer from an unnamed Premier League club.
Burnley and Celtic have already had bids turned down with Hamilton chairman Ronnie MacDonald demanding at least £2m for the 18-year-old.
