Gary McAllister interested in vacant Motherwell hot-seat
Former Scotland captain Gary McAllister has admitted his interest in the vacant manager's job at Motherwell.
The 44-year-old began his playing career at Fir Park before moving to Leicester City in 1985 and was linked with the role of Well boss two years ago before chairman John Boyle opted for Mark McGhee.
But with McGhee taking over as Aberdeen manager last week, McAllister would appear to be the ideal replacement ? the former Liverpool midfielder looking to get back into management after being fired by Leeds in December 2008.
"Motherwell are my club and the job appeals to me," said McAllister.
"I spoke to the chairman before Mark got the job but we'll need to see what happens in the next few days."
