Scottish FA maintain stance on anti-Olympic team for 2012
Britain's proposed football team for the 2012 London Olympics is set to be an all-English affair after the Scottish FA indicated they will play no part in its formation.
Their stance looks likely to be shared by the Welsh and Northern Irish FAs meaning only the English FA will have a say in organising the team.
The SFA had been steadfast in their opposition to a Team GB football team at 2012 fearing their individual voting rights within FIFA could be jeopardised.
However it is understood FIFA have pressured the SFA into accepting a compromise although FA chairman Lord Triesman's public comments last week that they were very close to a deal brought a stinging rebuke from a SFA spokesman.
He said: "We agreed on strict confidentiality and he's broken it.
"We were annoyed by the breach of confidentiality but the important thing is to get the issue sorted."
