Andy Driver to make decision on international future
Hearts winger Andrew Driver has confirmed he will make a decision about his nationality before Christmas.
Oldham-born Driver qualifies for Scotland via new Fifa laws which allow players to play for a country different to that of their birth provided they are schooled in the country for more than five years.
Driver moved to Berwick ten years ago but has already played for the England under-21 team.
Scotland boss George Burley will not pick Driver for the upcoming friendly with Wales later this month – and the Tynecastle star insists he won’t let his decision linger.
“It won’t be that long,” said Driver. “It will be in the near future.
“You don't want to drag it on - if you drag it on, it makes it look as if I’m stalling, which shows disrespect to both nations.”
