Tony Mowbray's competitive debut ends in Champions League defeat
Celtic's Champions League dream was dealt a hammer blow as they lost 1-0 to Dinamo Moscow in the third qualifying round first leg at Parkhead.
Alexander Kokorin netted the only goal of the game for the visitors in the seventh minute to leave new boss Tony Mowbray's men with a mountain to climb in the return leg in Russia.
The Bhoys squandered numerous chances to level the tie with new signing Marc-Antoine Fortune and Scott McDonald firing wide while Georgios Samaras should have done better with a late header.
Former Middlesbrough and Bristol City midfielder Luke Wilkshire saw an effort clawed to safety at the opposite end by Celtic stopper Artur Boruc.
But despite a late flurry of chances on Mowbray's competitive debut as Celtic Park chief, his charges failed to convert their efforts with McDonald watching a header cleared off the line.
Failure to win in the Russian capital next week would see Celtic drop into the qualification rounds of the lower-ranked Europa League.
