Celtic lift the Wembley Cup

Tony Mowbray claimed his first piece of silverware as Celtic manager after watching his side beat Tottenham 2-0 to win the Wembley Cup.

After thrashing Egyptian side Al Ahly 5-0, Celtic produced another impressive performance to see off English Premier League side Tottenham.

They took the lead on nine minutes as striker Chris Killen guided Paul Caddis' brilliant cross home after being left unmarked in the Tottenham penalty area.

But Mowbray was indebted to keeper Lukasz Zaluska for preserving the Hoops' lead as he denied both Darren Bent and Tom Huddlestone.

Greek striker Georgios Samaras then produced a stunning individual goal as he powered home after starting a run from inside his own half.

Killen cold have made it three shortly before the break but pulled his shot just wide while in the second half substitute Darren O'Dea cleared Luka Modric's goalbound shot off the line.
