Celtic's Europa League ambitions severely dented after loss to Hamburg
Celtic?s Europa League hopes were left hanging by a thread after Marcus Berg?s solitary strike earned Hamburg a 1-0 win at Parkhead.
Berg exchanged passes with Ze Roberto before holding off Gary Caldwell to fire past Artur Boruc in the 63rd minute.
The defeat leaves Tony Mowbray?s men bottom of Group C with just a single point from their opening three games.
Scott Brown sliced wide from eight yards for the hosts with just 13 minutes on the clock before Berg raced to the other end and fired wide.
After the break Berg chested the ball into Ze Roberto?s path who returned the favour for the Swede to fire home.
Substitute Paddy McCourt almost salvaged Celtic a point late on skipping into the box and forcing Frank Rost to push away his low drive as Hamburg held on.
