George Boyd called up to Scotland Squad for 'B' international
Peterborough winger George Boyd has received a shock call-up to the Scotland international football squad.
The Kent-born 23-year-old, who was nominated in the Coca-Cola League One team of the year last week, qualifies through his grandfather and could make his debut in next Wednesday's 'B' international against Northern Ireland.
Boyd has been inspirational for the Posh this season as they won promotion to the Championship and his Scottish boss Darren Ferguson set the wheels in motion for his international career.
"I'd love to play international football. I would jump at the chance to play for Scotland," said Boyd.
"Obviously playing for England is unrealistic so I'd happily go up to Scotland for a game.
"Things have gone really well for me this year, this just caps everything off."
