George Boyd gets Scotland career off to a flyer against Irish
New-boy George Boyd enjoyed a dream international debut as Scotland beat Northern Ireland 3-0 in their B international at Broadwood.
The Peterborough winger scored Scotland's second goal with a stunning strike before setting up Leigh Griffiths to complete the win.
On a dreadful night the home side started brightly with Steve Hammell's free-kick seeming to crossing the line before goalkeeper Jonathan Tuffey scrambled it to safety.
Steven Naismith and Chris Burke also forced Tuffey into action while counterpart David Marshall was alert to deny Andy Little and Oliver Norwood at the other end.
A half-time deluge then left the game in doubt but those fears were soon calmed and two minutes after the restart Scotland were ahead when Andy Webster crashed home after Tuffey had kept out his initial header.
Boyd then took centre stage 15 minutes from time when his sweetly struck left-foot drive flew beyond Tuffey.
He turned provider ten minutes later when he sent Griffiths racing clear to slide the ball past Tuffey.
