Fortune seeking to build on first Celtic goal against Arsenal
Marc-Antoine Fortune admitted his relief at finally getting off the mark for Celtic against St Johnstone – and is convinced he can add to his solitary goal during their must win Champions League qualifier with Arsenal.
The 28-year-old got his first goal in four competitive starts for the Bhoys in their 5-2 win over St Johnstone at Celtic Park.
But the French striker – who joined from Nancy in the summer for £3.8m – knows he will be in for a tougher time at the Emirates as he looks to help Celtic overturn their 2-0 first-leg deficit.
“I can't wait until the match comes along,” he said. “This is the sort of game that every player wants to play in and hopefully I can do well.
“I knew I was going to score one day and I did everything I could against St Johnstone to play well.
“I did everything I could to score and I was really pleased to get off the mark and score for the fans.
“The fans have showed me their support and I thank them for that and hopefully things can go well against Arsenal.”
