Loovens' late header sends Celtic to the top of the SPL
Dutch defender Glenn Loovens’ last-gasp header ensured Celtic dramatically came from behind to see off Hearts 2-1 and top the Scottish Premier League table.
Keeper Artur Boruc’s woes in the Celtic goal continued as Hearts midfielder Suso Santana fired the visitors into a shock lead in the fifth minute at Parkhead.
However striker Chris Killen spared Boruc’s blushes heading home an equaliser 11 minutes after the restart and then from then on it was all Celtic.
Aiden McGeady and Scott McDonald both rattled the woodwork as the clocked ticked past the 80 minute mark before the hosts had what they thought was an almost certain penalty turned down.
Substitute Niall McGinn was bundled over in the Hearts box by left-back Lee Wallace but nothing came of it.
However Celtic didn’t have to wait long and finally got their reward three minutes into injury time to move two points clear of Rangers.
