Richard Kruse has had his place at the Beijing Olympics rubber-stamped by the British Olympic Association.

It looked as if the Scot would miss out after failing to make the qualifying by just one point.

But the international federation stepped in earlier this month to give him a wildcard entry to the Games.

That entry had still to be ratified by the BOA but British Fencing have announced that his place is now confirmed.
