Jefferies out to make point

Ed Jefferies - British Fencing's male junior fencer of the year - is out to make his mark on this week's World Championships in Antalya, Turkey.

Jefferies will need to battle his way through his opening pool of the foil event which includes China's Sheng Lei and Denmark's Philippe Jorgensen.

The Scot - hoping to compete at the London Olympics in 2012 - has made outstanding progress of the past 12 months and the worlds will be another part of his learning curve.

British champion Anna Bentley is also out to make an impact in the women's foil.
