Jamie Fitzgerald wins junior World Cup event

Scotland's Jamie Fitzgerald achieved the best result of his career so far by winning the junior World Cup foil event in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Fitzgerald, who fences for the West Fife club, came out top in an event that featured 12 of the top 20 fencers in the world at Under-20 level.
"It is an outstanding result and represents a considerable success," said Chris Hyde, President of Scottish Fencing, "This will put Jamie into the top 10 in the world in his classification."
Coached by Ken Rose at the Dunfermline-based club, Fitzgerald was recently selected to join the Great Britain Olympic Pathway team.
