Scotland's Jamie Fitzgerald finished eighth in the men's foil at the European Junior Championships in Odense, Denmark.

Fitzgerald, from the West Fife club, was the highest placed British fencer at the championships.

He just edged ahead of GB team-mate Rhys Melia, who was ninth.

The title was won by Italian Daniele Garozzo with a final win over Germany's Andre Sanita.
