Lack of entries sees Scottish Championships cancelled
The Scottish Championships - due to be held at Grangemouth Sports Centre this weekend - have had to be cancelled due to lack of entries.
It is a major blow for Scottish Fencing but the organisers felt they had no choice after just 24 entries were received across six weapons.
Only a quarter of the entries were from adult fencers and it was thought that it would not have been worthy of a Scottish Championship to award titles in such circumstances.
The organisers also faced a considerable financial shortfall and decided the best course of action was to cancel the event.
