Diving legend Law awarded with Silver Pin by top body in swimming
One of the best-known characters in Scottish Swimming - Edinburgh and Warrender Club’s Bill Law - has been presented with one of Swimming’s most prestigious honours, the Silver Pin.
Given on behalf of the sport’s world governing body – LEN – the award is made in recognition of many years of involvement in the sport.
As a competitor, Bill was Scottish National Champion or runner-up every year from 1951-64 and dived for Scotland at the 1958 Commonwealth Games, finishing sixth on the Highboard.
Since then, he has maintained a huge interest in the sport both as a judge and administrator. He has been involved in a huge number of important events both at home and abroad.
“Scottish Swimming is thrilled to see Bill recognized with such a prestigious award. It is well deserved after so many years of dedication and support to Scottish Diving at National and International level,” said Alan Fletcher, the President of Scottish Swimming.
