Four-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy insists he is taking nothing for granted as he bids to capture double gold at the Senior National Track Championships in Manchester this week.

The 33-year-old flying Scot will face off against compatriots Matt Crampton, David Daniell, Jason Kenny and Ross Edgar in the keirin and the individual sprint competitions.

Hoy is yet to reach the heights that saw he become the first Brit to win three gold medals at an Olympics in 100 years in Beijing last year after breaking his hip in March, which brought a premature end to his season.

And Hoy knows he faces a fight if he is to get back to winning ways on home soil this week.

"I'm sure it's going to be a very tough National Track Championships this year," said Hoy.

"There are going to be a whole host of guys fighting for that gold medal."

But Hoy's compatriot, skier-turned-cyclist Alain Baxter, who was set to makes his track cycling debut in the sprint competitions, has been forced to withdraw with a bout of flu.
